To: All organisations and persons concerned with the stimulation of Go in Europe

In the next years the Go centre will focus on communication and interaction with other parties working to promote Go. To fascilitate this discussion and exchange of ideas we introduce the European Go Centre Award.

In 2000-2001 the European Go Centre will collect succesful go projects from all European countries. They will be made available to all other European organisations, clubs and individual persons who are enthusiastic about spreading Go. The projects will mostly be published trough the website of the European Go Centre.

We will have a contest this year with money awards for the best projects.

Every European Go player, club or organisation can enter!
We are interested in every project that helps spreading the game of Go. Not only projects that attract new players but also projects that stimulate 'regular' players.

For example:
Teaching (special)groups of beginners
Improving the infrastructure of an organisation or club
Making Go publications for promotion or study (either on paper, CD or by internet)
Use of Go in some other discipline, for instance management programmes
Making Go (part of) an exhibition for a broad public
Arranging special lessons or material for children
Producing and distribution of inexpensive Go stones

There will be one award of 600 Euro for the 'best' project. Two other projects will be awarded with 300 Euro. Furthermore the European Go Centre will provide a budget to make the best project(s) available to other organisations in co-ooperation with
the winner(s).

You can send details of your project to the European Go Centre, starting from September 2000 to April 2001. You will be asked to provide details (material, figures and/or photographes later). All material will be made freely available to a broad public, apart of course from copyrighted material.

An international jury will have a thorough look at the material from May to June 2001. The winners will be announced at the European Go Congress 2001 in Ireland.

WE ASK EVERY INDIVIDUAL WHO HAPPENS TO KNOW A POSSIBLE CANDIDATE TO FORWARD THIS MESSAGE TO THAT PERSON.

WE ASK THE BOARDS OF ALL NATIONAL GO ASSOCIATIONS IN EUROPE TO PUT THIS AWARD PROJECT ON THE AGENDA OF THEIR NEXT MEETING.

Stimata doamna, stimate domn

Am deosebita placere si bucurie de a va anunta nominalizarea in cadrul finalei "The European Go Centre Award contest 2001" a doua (!!!) proiecte romanesti de promovare a jocului de Go.

Aceasta competitie vizeaza premierea unor proiecte din intreaga lume (deja derulate) ce au contribuit la raspandirea si dezvoltarea jocului de Go.

Din Timisoara a intrat in competitie proiectul intitulat "Campanie de Promovare a Jocului de Go in Randul Tinerilor Timisoreni", proiect realizat in colaborare de Asociatia Tinerilor Esperantisti din Romania si Clubul de Go Timisoara.

We had a little slow start for the competition but we can now announce to you that all projects, including yours has a place on internet at our web site.
It is in an experimental stage so we would like to ask you to take a look and give us your oppinion wether or not your project is presented ok.

Please give us your reaction before Monday July 2. On that day we will edit the pages on the contributions and announce the renewal.

The prize giving this year will take place at the closing ceremony of the Go Congress in Ireland. Will you be present there or do you know someone who can represent you there?
